In 2020, Saddleback installed a new high-speed detachable quad chairlift that has super-charged the skier experience. Saddleback renovated its base lodge greatly increasing its seating capacity and expanding its kitchen, bar and restaurant. It also invested heavily in its snow-making and its grooming fleet and stands second to none in New England in providing reliably great skier/rider experience.
In 2021, Saddleback is constructing a second lodge located just west of the upper terminal of the Rangeley Quad. This triangular, architect designed lodge will feature commanding views over the Rangeley Lakes Region while fitting neatly into Saddleback’s alpine environment. It will feature a living green roof and will be pioneering bird-safe construction methods and materials. In addition to providing an inspiring lodge experience for our guests, it will allow for interesting programming, retreats, and, of course, a fantastic destination for wedding ceremonies.
Also in 2021, Saddleback is constructing a solar farm as a means of responsibly addressing the high energy demands of a growing ski resort.
